Job Description Summary

Design, deliver, and deploy software and hardware solutions to achieve reliable and accurate test results of internally developed x-ray scintillation materials. Work to improve, simplify, and reduce cost of both existing and new manufacturing test processes. Interface with local and global counterparts to achieve program goals and integrate global activities when necessary. Develop a deep understanding of how the test equipment functions and the meaning of test results related to larger processes. Share expertise as needed to make impactful decisions for the business with local and global internal customers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Develop and improve automated x-ray test equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and identify improvement opportunities around gauge capability and reliability.

  • Work with internal team members and external integrators as needed.

  • Engage in automation design for integrating test equipment into automated manufacturing cells.

  • Perform equipment qualification and implement production process changes, including accompanying technical and training documentation.

  • Work with a broader team to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, and equipment.

  • Propose mechanical, electrical, and/or software related improvements and work with appropriate support to bring proposals to production environment.

  • Analyze test data to help the broader team troubleshoot issues in upstream and downstream processes.

  • Monitor and improve productivity using Lean, Six Sigma, process monitoring, or related tools while ensuring customer commitments are met.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or related technical field.

  • Demonstrated experience with both hardware and software integration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry experience developing and improving manufacturing equipment.

  • Highly self-motivated and willing to learn a wide variety of technical topics.

  • Experience integrating complex hardware and software subsystems into a functioning system.

  • Proficiency in analyzing manufacturing data, identifying issues, and driving to root causes.

  • Proficiency in writing clear and concise documentation.

  • Experience or interest in basic statistics and data processing.

  • Experience with reading and editing electrical schematics.

  • Experience with reading and editing mechanical models or drawings.

  • Experience with developing and delivering manufacturing equipment in a medical device industry.
