Who You Are:

Someone who has minimally 2 years HD truck mechanic experience. CDL-B preferred, but not required. Experience with performing duties such as changing oil and tires, replacing hoses and belts, inspecting brakes, and helping to diagnose vehicle issues. Have good organization skills. Have knowledge of engines, controls, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, etc. Must have good communication skills and own basic set of hand tools.

We are looking for dependable team players with good communication skills and are safety conscious. Conduct yourself in a professional manner during stressful situation and when under time constraints.

What you will be doing:

  • Performs maintenance and repair on fleet vehicles.
  • Assists Lead Mechanic to complete necessary repairs.
  • Perform final operational test on repaired vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on trucks such as fluid changes, lubrications, safety inspections, brake repairs, etc.
  • Assist with emergency roadside assistance as directed.
  • Discuss parts needs with Lead Mechanic on a daily basis (for timely and efficient ordering).
  • Help and assist all mechanics with daily repairs and help maintain shop flow.

Additional requirements of this job:

  • Discuss all shop issues and concerns with Fleet Manager daily and treat all concerns with respect and privacy.
  • Follow paper-flow procedures including documenting all repairs, parts used, issues and items needing ordering.
  • Report all accidents, injuries or near misses to supervisor immediately.
  • Work safely and efficiently.
  • Foster a team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned or as necessary.

Requirements for this position:

  • Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 100 pounds as required throughout the workday.
  • Bending, squatting, climbing, standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to grasp, discern color, be capable of using tools and equipment properly.
  • Must be able to maneuver in and out of vehicles safely.
  • Must be able to climb ladders (on vehicles) when necessary.
  • Must be able to work long and flexible hours as necessary.
