Catholic Health Services Ultrasound Technologist in West Islip, New York

Overview Performs ultrasound examinations on patients. Sets up equipment, documents patients' complete history and explains the procedures to be performed. Prepares preliminary evaluations and communicates the results to the radiologist. Job Details Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams on Obstetric and gynecologic patients. Integrate diagnostic sonogram with patients’ history, medical records and laboratory results. Present and prepare preliminary ultrasound findings to attending physician for final report Present preliminary findings to physician for final report. Assist the physician with patient care. Collaboratively work with billing/ secretarial staff in regard to authorizations/charges. Provide float coverage at other practice sites as needed. Provide coverage vacation at other sites as needed. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Candidate must be ARDMS certified or ARDMS registry eligible. ARDMS eligible graduates from CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education) accredited program must be registered in OB/GYN within 12 months of employment. ARDMS credentials must be maintained yearly. OB/GYN experience for a minimum of one year. Fetal echo certification is highly preferred. Salary Range USD $51.00 - USD $56.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and position location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
