Overview Good Samaritan University Hospital is a 537- bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. Our reputation for excellence is built on great choices and empowered leadership, and fosters a team that's focused on evidence based practice, continual learning and exceptional quality of care Job Details Responsibilities: Utilizes crisis and /or de-escalation intervention practices, when necessary and appropriate, with clients whose behavior cannot be otherwise supported without such interventions. Assists in the application and removal of restraints when deemed necessary by appropriate personnel and ensures the physical and emotional health and safety of the patient when using such methods. Identifies patient characteristics and environmental variables that may trigger agitated behavior(s) and communicates such information to the interdisciplinary team. Performs observation and monitoring of assigned patients on a one-to-one basis. Document observations on forms and/or computerized patient record as per policy. Performs patient checks/rounds as required, and reports observations, interactions and patient activity to assigned nursing staff. Document observations on forms and/or computerized patient record as per policy. Communicates clinical matters to assigned RN or other professional staff as required.. Accurately performs/records procedures (Full vital signs, WT) Accurately performs EKGs Safely assists with ADL's, with Psychiatric Emergencies/RRTs Interacts therapeutically/respectfully with all patients, their family members and staff. Promotes positive working relationships with peers and others. Requirements: High School or equivalent diploma. Experience working with the mentally ill population preferred. Previous hospital experience a plus. BLS Certified required – must be from American Heart Association Salary Range USD $23.43 - USD $29.29 /Hr.
