Job Description

Job Overview: Be responsible for leading all aspects of the accounting functions of our organization and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Will lead a team of accountants, run the month-end close process, and provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Lead all aspects of the preparation of accurate and timely financial documents, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.

Month-end Close: Lead the month-end close process, including the review and analysis of journal entries, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all month-end deliverables.

Financial Analysis: Perform in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability analysis. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making and planning.

Internal Controls: Build and maintain effective internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Identify control gaps and implement improvements to mitigate risks.

Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Develop a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements. Coordinate with auditors during the annual audit process and address any audit findings or recommendations.

Improvement In Execution: Continuously evaluate accounting processes and systems to find opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness. Implement operational improvements to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

Partner Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and senior management, to provide financial insights and support critical initiatives. Build strong relationships with key partners.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred.

  • 10+ Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar financial leadership role.

  • 5+ direct management experience leading and developing teams.

  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial documents, and GAAP.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.

  • Experience in managing the month-end close process and preparing financial documents.

  • Knowledge of internal controls and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with partners at all levels.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $130,000.00–$194,950.00.
