This role offers 8-hour SHIFTS, as well as regular weekend overtime shifts, as needed. The individual selected for this role will be assigned to 3 rd Shift (10:30 PM – 6:30 AM) Sunday through Thursday.

There is $1,000.00 SIGN-ON BONUS for this role. The hourly rate for this role is $20.68 with a $1/hour shift differential. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Technician provides testing and other quality-related services to internal customers and ultimately assures product quality, integrity, and safety to the consumer under the direction of the QA Team Manager and QA management. This person will perform analytical and microbiological testing of raw materials, batch samples, and finished goods by following established testing methods and Standard Operating Procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform analytical testing on incoming raw materials, including point of use water, batches, and finished products.

  • Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, liquid finished products, and environmental monitoring samples.

  • Perform batch adjustments.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.

  • Perform basic scale/torque meter verification.

  • Prepare laboratory reagents and standards.

  • Prepare micro quality supplies to include agar, media plates, and broth.

  • Collect incoming raw materials, as needed, including point of use water samples and environmental monitoring samples.

  • Collect air samples and analyze for enzyme activity.

  • Communicate, retest, release, reject, investigate, and/or escalate, as necessary, during off-quality situations.

  • Block/release materials in the system; enter hold data into SAP or other tracking files.

  • Enter quality test results, scan paperwork into SAP, and monitor SAP for completion of inspections.

  • File quality documents; input and save quality data in the appropriate locations.

  • Analyze data and react to trends.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and perform out of specification investigations.

  • Aid manufacturing personnel and/or process engineers during test runs and other production projects.

  • Collect, label, and store retain samples according to established procedures.

  • Keep quality work areas clean and organized.

  • Assist with training of associates in areas of expertise.

  • Must be in quality lab by start of shift and fully participate in shift hand-off activities, including updates to escalations and action items.

  • Must continuously follow all safety policies and procedures on the job.

  • Must complete BBSWA and monthly Compliance Trainings.

  • For safety and business purposes, must have excellent communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking; must be able to communicate to others, as well as be able to receive communication from others.

  • Maintain an awareness of and use Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or other Science field is preferred.

  • Previous Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience is preferred.

  • Must have at least 1-2 years of current or recent laboratory or manufacturing experience.

  • Must have basic to intermediate computer and math skills.

  • SAP, relevant ISO standards, and/or auditing experience is preferred.

  • Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

  • Must have a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Must have outstanding organizational skills, thorough with all lab details, and follow through with procedures, as needed.

  • Must have effective communication skills.

  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Must have a willingness and capability to solve problems within the lab and cross-functionally.

  • Must have the ability to pivot and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic team environment.

  • Must learn and adapt to Henkel processes and procedures.
