Position Description

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Electrician to join the Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT!

As an Electrician, you’ll perform essential duties related to factory and building services while being part of a strong, innovative, and stable company known for industry leadership.

Pay Rate: $37.00 / per hour

Shift: 1st (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)

MAIN JOB DUTIES:

  • Wires all electrical systems related to machinery, equipment, and building service facilities.

  • Analyzes, diagnoses and corrects electrical and electronic equipment malfunctions.

  • Installs, repairs and maintains all production equipment, special purpose manufacturing systems, office and factory support equipment and building facilities.

  • Performs Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) schedules and assignments as required for the tools and machines used in the performance of this function.

  • Maintains all materials, tools, and equipment in good repair and maintains orderly condition of work area consistent with 5 C practices and the Wiremold Production System.

  • Records information required for analysis and decision making including, but not limited to equipment performance, quality, and productivity.

  • Complies with all OSHA and company safety procedures and works in a safe manner to insure both personal safety and safety to others.

  • Performs all assignments with attention to quality standards of workmanship.

  • Reports current or potential problems or malfunctions that may affect assignment or operation of equipment.

  • May train others in repair and safe operation of equipment.

  • Performs other work as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

  • Driver's License

  • Electrical License (E1, or minimum E2 Journeyman)

    EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 - 5 Years

    SKILLS/KNOWELDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Must know how to use all applicable tools and measuring devices to perform the work.

  • Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot AC and DC motors and drives

  • Experience in manufacturing as a hands-on Electrician preferred

  • PLC trouble shooting experience preferred

  • Capable of reading and interpreting electrical schematics

  • Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment

  • Verbal/written communication and customer service skills

  • Willingness to work with engineering staff as required

  • Willingness to learn troubleshooting techniques related to relay logic, PLC's and microprocessor-based controls

  • Willingness to learn panel building techniques and skills

  • Must possess and maintain a minimum of a Connecticut E-2 License

  • Must maintain current licensing or certification required for the performance of assigned tasks.

  • Must know and follow all applicable OSHA and Company safety policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Must know all electrical equipment and material specifications, wiring codes, and local electrical ordinances.

    Essential Mental Functions:

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams.

  • Must understand and demonstrate the ability to program and diagnose programmable control logic and equipment.

  • Must be able to read and follow established job procedures and check lists.

  • Use written and oral communication skills

  • Read and interpret data, information and documents

  • Use math and mathematical reasoning

  • Observe and interpret situations

  • Learn and apply new information or skills

  • Perform work on multiple, concurrent tasks

  • Work with mechanics to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, mechanical and electrical industrial equipment

  • Interact with managers, staff, customers, the public and others encountered in the course of work
