This individual needs to have knowledge of Logistics/Dispatching, shipping, and storage of a dry fertilizer terminal. * Essential Job Functions* Facilitates the coordination, scheduling and offloading of all inbound product shipments with West End Fertilizer Plant. Facilitates the outbound movement of products to Southern FS, Inc. Locations / customers according to established standards. Assures product movements are coordinated with logistics and designated customer personnel to minimize total inbound and outbound transportation cost and to maximize customer satisfaction. Maintains a strong working knowledge of the blending equipment located at the facility. Ensures that customers are served professionally, and the facility operational and administrative work is completed to maximize customer satisfaction. Be available for customer needs after normal working hours, including weekends – when appropriate. Assist in coordinating personnel for extended hours. Assist in the coordination of seasonal requirements for space utilization and storage configuration for all products. Implements operational procedures at the facility. Responsible for Inventory control, product quality, housekeeping, repairs and maintenance projects and compliance with safety and environmental practices at the facility. Collaborates with Southern FS Safety and Environmental personnel. Maintain a professional working relationship with all team members. Assure that the facility is operated in accordance with all applicable contract terms and best business practices. Directly supervises 1 to 4 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. * Other Job Functions* Communicates and collaborates with Procurement/Logistics Manager, Location Mangers, Area Managers, Operations Manager and General Manager. Encourage employees to better their individual performances by taking specialized training and further educational courses to enhance their performances. Seek and communicate ideas for improvement of facility processes and functions. Maintain and update appropriate records and paperwork accurately. Apply working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, welding, and instrumental systems to maintain and troubleshoot facility equipment. Follow Growmark’s / Southern FS, Inc code of conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Perform all other duties as assigned. * Basic Qualifications* * Ability to understand procedures, safety and environmental risks associated with handling, shipping, blending, and storage of dry fertilizer. * Two plus years’ experience or training in maintenance and troubleshooting electrical issues. * Mechanical Aptitude or background * Good communication and organizational skills * Familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Word / Excel) * Agvance Software Experience * Ability to learn and implement new software programs * Valid Driver’s License – Class A CDL with Triples and Hazmat Endorsements * Willing to work extended hours as required. * Willing to be on call on weekends and nights. * Must live within 30 minutes of the West End site. * High School Diploma or GED * Requirements* * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds. * Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather (hot, cold, wet, etc.) * Ability to sit, stand or kneel as needed. * Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights- as needed. * Noisy Conditions * Confined spaces * Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures. * Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Growmark / Southern FS policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
