Job Title: Regional Merchandising Coordinator

Department: Retail

FSLA: Non-Exempt

General Function

Creates, maintains, coordinates and merchandises all aspects of the retail stores. Prepares and analyzes store merchandising plans.

*Centrally located residency is required within the area.

Accountable and Reports to: Regional Vice President

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works in Hy-Vee retail locations to set and maintain the expectation and appearance of a store on grand opening day.

  • Supports the lead regional merchandising coordinator through daily business needs.

  • Documents category merchandising concepts and adjacencies with the Lead Regional Merchandising Coordinator.

  • Works with suppliers and purchasing team of fuel purchasing, product assortment, new items and new categories.

  • Maintains general cleanliness and adheres to company policies.

  • Stocks shelves, unload trucks, opens containers, and rotates product.

  • Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.

    Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates reports and presentations as needed.

  • Attends and participates in company and industry meetings.

  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

    Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required; Secondary education preferred. 2 - 3 years previous Hy-Vee retail experience; Experience with store sets and merchandising preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.

  • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

    Working Conditions

The duties of this position are performed in a retail setting. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.

Equipment Used to Perform Job

Standard tools and equipment used to perform general office duties, including calculator, Fax, copier, telephone, printer, and PC with Microsoft Office programs.

Financial Responsibility

Maintain proper record of travel expenses and submit expense report in a timely manner.

Contacts

Has regular contact with store personnel. Has occasional contact with Suppliers/Vendors. Has frequent contact with office personnel in other departments related to the position.

Confidentiality

Has access to confidential information including knowledge of company wide sales, store sales and new store sites.

Travel

Occasional travel and overnight stays are required.
