Industrial Staffing Services Inc. Data Center Technician in West Des Moines, Iowa

FieldLink a national low voltage staffing firm, is currently looking for an upwards of thirty experienced data center technicians in West Des Moines, IA for a one year contract project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Cabling installation and termination (all media types); cabling testing and documentation * Experience with Build-out of MDF and IDF (racks, patch panels, wire managers, network electronics, etc.); installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage cable systems; Work with CAT 5e, 6 and 6a twisted pair cable, optical fiber, coax, etc. * Perform all cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, terminating, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local regulations MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Tech 1: Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50-pound box or ladder * Must own low voltage tools, snips, cable strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc. * Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime as needed; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines * Must pass 7-year criminal background check and pre-employment physical and drug screen. * Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance * High School diploma, or equivalent * Tech 2: all above requirements plus a minimum 1 year of commercial low voltage installation experience: * Working with CAT 5e, 6 and 6a twisted pair cable, optical fiber, coax, etc. * With cabling installation and termination of all media types * Building out MDF and IDF (racks, patch panels, wire managers, network electronics, etc.) * Tech 3: all above requirements plus a minimum of 2 years of commercial low voltage installation experience: * Working with CAT 5e, 6 and 6a twisted pair cable, optical fiber, coax, etc. * With cabling installation and termination of all media types * Building out MDF and IDF (racks, patch panels, wire managers, network electronics, etc.) PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (NOT REQUIRED) * High School Diploma * BICSI, Technician, or Installation Certification * Powder Actuated tools Certification * Confined Space Certification * CPR and First aid certified * Manufacturers certifications for Installation and Maintenance We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, religion, color sex, national origin, citizenship status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, uniform service member status, genetic information, disability, or any other protected status, in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
