Heritage's Dairy Stores, Inc. Manager Trainee in West Deptford, New Jersey

Principal Responsibilities:1. Give every guest outstanding guest service by providing and creating a guest friendly environment, and following our GUEST Approach. Greet every guest as they walk in the front door, Understanding their needs, Eye contact, Smile and Thanking the guest sincerely.2. Must achieve and maintain all company standards when it comes to profitability and yearly goals.3. Oversee cash management procedures which includes PDI, Sales, Receiving, Coin ordering.4. Oversee proper handling of all products which includes, but is not limited to, ordering, receiving, rotating, freshness, quality, quantity and returning out of code and damaged product in a timely fashion.5. Ensure accurate stock levels by performing precise monthly audit counts and monitoring ordering of product and supplies with a computer and/or handheld device. Review the results on the store’s computer and/or handheld and make necessary changes. Prepare action plans to address off standard items.6. Analyze profit and loss statements and monthly gross profit reports to ensure store’s profitability and design a plan if the store doesn’t meet company financial standards.7. Control inventory level by checking in all external vendors by using a handheld device and ensuring the delivery is accurate. Keep open line of communication with vendors to ensure the store’s needs are met. Ensure external vendors are following Heritage’s safety standards. Ensure proper product pricing.8. Manage all safety programs and ensure proper execution and compliance. Report all customer and employee incidences in the appropriate time frame.9. Follow merchandising Planograms at all times.10. Plan, prepare and post work schedules in accordance to budgeted hours.11. Supervise the day-to-day task assignments for Team Members.12. Maintain all equipment in clean and proper operating condition.13. Clearly communicate and enforce all policies and procedure and operating guidelines. Take appropriate disciplinary action if needed by following Heritage’s counseling process.14. Attend Managers’ Meetings and District Meetings and any other meetings required by a member of Management.15. Holds regular team meetings.16. Walk store twice a day prior to opening in the morning and prior to leaving.17. Maintain turnover to company standard of below 65% per year.18. Recruit, hire, train and develop all Team Members, GSM’s and Assistant Manager.19. Ensure that the store is properly staffed with Team Members, GSM’s and Assistant Manager at all times.20. Train and develop three GSM’s in all aspects of the business and schedule at least one GSM whenever the Manager or Assistant is not present.21. Develop a management team and be committed to continuous growth and development of individual employees by managing their performance, attitudes, etc.22. Must do End of Month Cigarette, Food Service and Beverage Inventories.23. Responds to emergency situations such as robberies or break-ins. Answer and responds to alarm calls immediately.24. Continually evaluate and react to employee performance issues.25. Perform employee evaluations and checklists on a timely basis.26. Properly implement and execute all company programs.27. Maintain the store property to Board of Health and company sanitation standards.28. Must be able and willing to use the slicer to cut various types of meats and cheeses.29. Must be able and willing to make all types of cold and hot sandwiches.30. Manager will have to operate the cash register, scan items, bag merchandise and make and provide change for purchases.31. Comply with federal and state laws by requesting personal identification from guest who is purchasing tobacco products.32. Maintain proper cash levels in register drawers.33. Follows directives given by the Supervisor or any member of the IMPACT Team.34. Continue to development personal Management skills and techniques by attending workshops and or seminars.35. Treat everyone fairly and do not discriminate towards anyone.36. Project positive, enthusiastic and professional attitude at all times and maintain the values and principles of Heritage’s.37. Must be able and have the ability to open and close the store on time.Requirements:1. High School diploma or GED.2. Must possess a valid driver’s license.3. Must have a reliable vehicle because position requires some travel.4. One year prior management experience.5. Willing to accept responsibility in all facets of the positon which includes but not limited to store’s performance, overall performance of the team and their personal actions and behavior.6. Able to communicate with employees and guests.7. Able to read, count and write and accurately complete all documentation.8. Able to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.9. Able to freely access all areas of the store including the front of the store, the back of the store and register area without accommodations.10. Able to climb ladders.11. Able to stand for long periods of time.12. Able to move, lift and handle merchandise without restrictions throughout the store.13. Able to perform the following physical behaviors occasionally during the shift; bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pushing reaching above your head and reaching below waist.14. Able to lift product that weighs up to 50lbs without restrictions.15. Able to report to work on time, even when it snows and inclement weather and the ability to work flexible hours/days/nights/weekends/holidays in order to oversee the store operations. A Manager must work a minimum of 45 hours per week. The 45 hours are made up of a minimum of five nine hour days and one of them must be a weekend day or night. The nine hours start a half hour prior to the store’s opening. If a Manager chooses to go in earlier they are permitted to go in a minimum of one hour prior to when the store opens. If schedule and the Manager’s performance permits, the Manager can have one full weekend off a month or every weekend off with prior Supervisors’ approval. Store hours are 5:00am to 10:00pm Monday-Friday and 6 am- 10 pm Saturday and Sunday.16. Must maintain appropriate car insurance that you are required by NJ Law.
