FLSA STATUS: Salaried/Exempt

We are looking for a VP, Payroll Administration to lead the Payroll Administration team and managing the effective delivery of the department’s activities and services for the corporation. Mentor staff and maintain internal & external client relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee payroll operations and initiate process improvements related to internal customer service and productivity, develop and/or review payroll related policies and procedures as needed.

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of payroll professionals.

  • Manage third party relationship related to payroll processing.

  • Ensure that the calculation of earnings and other payments are timely, accurate and in compliance with Federal and state.

  • Ensure payroll files are received and processed timely to meet payroll timelines.

  • Ensure that payroll transactions are properly classified and in compliance with accounting principles and internal/external audit requirements.

  • Interface with HR and Accounting groups on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and proper accounting of transactions.

  • Maintain open communications with all departments, but especially Venues, as necessary to maintain client satisfaction.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation.

  • Manage multiple and simultaneous priorities and achieve results without close supervision is necessary.

  • Lead the payroll efforts in the implementation of Workday payroll.

  • Training on financial systems as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Business Administration (Required) Experience 10 Years’ experience in payroll operations.

  • Experience with processing payroll through Workday.

  • Experience in leading and managing a payroll department for a large corporation with multiple distributed work locations.

  • Advanced computer literacy (specific proficiency in Word and Excel), and desire to support new products and technologies.

  • Extensive knowledge in Payroll & Accounting procedures and Payroll Tax Laws & Regulations.

  • Ability to operate independently and have the strong desire to work as a member of a team.

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft products.

  • Ability to quickly learn new financial systems and tools.

  • Professional demeaner.
