Job Description Summary
The DMLM/Additive Process Engineer will be responsible for the development, validation, implementation, and improvement of additive manufacturing processes. In this role you will utilize engineering and manufacturing skills to solve problems and advance the art of additive technology with a strong focus on production quality, standardization, management of change, on time delivery, and cost.

Roles and Responsibilities
Develop, configure and optimize industrial additive manufacturing processes from inception through to start up and implementation/certification.
Author and audit process specific work instructions, statements of work, and standard operating practices.
Assess processes, take measurements, interpret data, and document results.
Effectively communicate project outcomes to senior leadership.
Lead projects intended to run, test, and improve additive processes.
Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve technology and processes related to additive manufacturing of parts. Specifically, processes related but not limited to additive file creation, parameter assignment, powder use/handling, machine qualification and material testing.
Perform detailed risk assessments such as PFEMA.
Provide additive process development history and documentation
Lead root cause and corrective actions for process issues and manufacturing failures
Develop and manage project plans for new machine/part process introductions or changes and their respective substantiations
Interface with a cross functional team to ensure business outcomes around safety, quality, lean, and delivery are achieved.
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Lead engineer will be expected to interact with Design, EMS, Quality, hardware owners and equipment manufacturers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in additive manufacturing).
3+ years’ experience working in an additive manufacturing role.

Working knowledge of manufacturing work instructions and shop planning
2+ years of experience with specification and drawing interpretation.
Working knowledge or understanding of GE Aviation quality system
Lean Six Sigma experience and/or formal training.
Experience using statistical tools and concepts (Excel, Minitab, Cpk, ANOVA)
Experience with CAD and STL models
Working knowledge of additive process parameters and equipment
Knowledge of process related standards of GE Aviation.
