Minimum Hiring Wage:

From $16.00 per hour

Job Details:

Scheduled hours: 3:00pm-11:30pm or 7:00am - 3:30pm

Job Description:

  • Provides intra-facility transports of mental health patients using a secured car. Responsible for documentation of patient transports.

  • Participation in educational programs and in-services as well as performance of miscellaneous related duties.

  • Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional care.

  • Provides high quality patient-centered transportation services to the following customer populations: Public; Patients; Allied emergency personnel; Students doing field internships.

Qualifications:

Required Skills, Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Iowa chauffeur license or Illinois equivalent

Desired Skills, Education and Experience

  • Experience in EMS at any level, preferred

  • Previous healthcare experience

  • Previous clinical experience

  • Previous direct patient care experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients

  • Ability to communicate with hospital staff and respond quickly to patient behavioral changes

  • Ability to use discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors, and staff

  • Basic computer operation skills

  • Basic Microsoft windows experience

  • Efficiency in multitasking

  • Ability to prioritize simultaneous situations
