Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seekinga Social Worker – Schools. The SocialWorker collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, and provides input in thedevelopment of the plan of care for students requiring social workintervention.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Establishes a set of rules andprocedures that are appropriate for therapeutic setting and are within theparameter of the full instructional program

  • Designs and developsappropriate individualized service plans that are based on the IEP and supportsthe curriculum using diagnostic information from a variety of assessments andassessment processes

  • Uses available and appropriatehuman and material resources as a bridge to the instructional program, thehome, other services

  • Effectively transitionsstudents from therapy to classroom, classroom to therapy, and to servicesbeyond the school

  • Plans, in collaboration withthe educational team, for the prevention and intervention of inappropriatebehaviors, while maintaining the dignity of the student

  • Engages student providingpositive feedback using effective reinforcement techniques

  • Interacts effectively with (a)students, (b) family members, (c) educational team members, and (d)professionals outside the organization

  • Knowledgeable about generaldevelopment and the impact of the disability on the student and his/her family

  • Utilizes community, state andnational resources where necessary to promote the safety and welfare ofstudents

  • Responsible for all assignedstudents and educational support staff as well as any assigned studentteachers, interns, and volunteers working in the school for the welfare andsafety of all students while in the classroom, on school grounds, during beforeand after-school activities.

  • Performs other duties asassigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hold a Professional EducatorLicense with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement

  • Demonstrates excellence inverbal and written communications

  • Experience with collaborativegroups and processes in a student-centered environment

  • Other qualifications ofacademic, professional, and personal excellence as the Governing Board mayspecify

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Ability to effectivelyelicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, butnot limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communicationskills; proficiency in the English language may be required

  • Must be at least eighteen (18)years of age
