The City of Wentzville is seeking candidates interested in joining our Parks and Recreation team. Wentzville is one of the fastest-growing communities in the state. Come grow with us!

The Lead Concessions Attendant's typical duties includeserving as the front-line customer service representative for concessions and providing courteous, professional, and positive service in all interactions with patrons and staff. This position will also perform routine manual work to maintain, clean and operate concession facilities; provide shift leadership and guidance; train new staff members as needed; lead, monitor, and supervise employees to achieve goals that contribute to individual and organizational success.

This is a part-time position, not to exceed an average of 29 hours per week.

Qualifications

Job QualificationsEducation, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.

  • A minimum of one year of prior relevant experience is required.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required within 90 days of the hire date.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Completion of the Basic Sanitation course by St. Charles County Health is required.
  • A valid drivers license is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMay be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with this position.

  • Ability to operate a computer using a Point of Sales System for all concessions sales.
  • Ability to use basic math skills (i.e., add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Ability to complete monetary transactions with little or no errors.
  • Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, and customers by telephone, in writing, and in person.
  • Ability to use good judgment and think rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
  • Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work, as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic business software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentations) and basic office equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize routine and robust tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently under moderate supervision and make responsible decisions.
  • Ability to work under established processes and solve problems within defined parameters.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty. Job requires being reliable, responsible and dependable.
