Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for interns for our Electrification and Automation division in Wendell, NC to support our portfolio of protection and automation products and solutions. A variety of opportunities are available across the business supporting project design tasks, operations, product development, special projects and process improvements. On-site requirement will vary based on team placement – as will expected working hours.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Assist with and complete development work on protection and automation projects that help improve engineering productivity

  • Contribute to daily activities of the group with focus on learning how to configure and test an energy automation system, based on the vast product line by Siemens (.i.e. Remote Terminal Units (RTU), protective devices (Relays), and human machine interface (HMI)

  • Contribute to the engineering design process, focusing on learning about panel AD/DC schematic drawings, logic diagrams, signal lists, and communication network diagrams

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student studying Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of power systems

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with MS office products with proficiency in MS works, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Majors: Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student studying Electrical Engineering

  • Education: Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited technical school, college, or university (you must be a registered student at the time of the internship)

  • Relocation: No travel /or relocation compensation. Applicants must be local and able to work on-site at the office in Wendell, NC

  • Working Hours: Summer Internships are Full-time 40 hours per week. Work times starting from 8-9am and ending they day 4-6pm with flex start and end times.

  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
