Job Overview

  • Rebuilds and refurbishes frames, housings and similar structures by forming, straightening and reshaping existing steel sub-components and / or removal and replacement of details worn or damaged beyond reuse
  • Manufactures new frames, housings and similar structural sub-components using new parts and materials
  • Utilizes torches, MIG, TIG, Carbon-Arc, Gas Shielded Arc, and other gas welding equipment in conjunction with knowledge and experience in welding techniques and metal characteristics to perform job duties.
  • Perform casual mechanical assembly on machine rebuilds (basic tasks not requiring specialized mechanical training or technical expertise).
  • Operate overhead and jib cranes, fork trucks and powered hand tools.
  • Operate Iron Worker, brake press and various sized positioners.
  • Operate Boretech welding machine and fixtures.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Ability to pass a structural welding test in flat and vertical processes. Welding Certification. AWS or equal Certification.
  • 2 - 4 years structural welding experience in heavy equipment manufacturing and / or remanufacturing environment.
  • Read, understand, repair and manufacture steel structures using blueprints, drawings and other OEM or customer specifications and diagrams.
  • Read and correctly interpret standard AWS as well as universal welding symbols.
  • Familiar with basic functions and operations of parts positioning machines.
