Job Overview

  • DISMANTLE AND REBUILD PANEL BOARDS, CONTROL CASES AND CABLE REELS AND ASSEMBLE THEM ACCORDING TO WIRING DIAGRAMS.

  • INSTALL PANEL BOARDS, CONTROLLERS, MOTORS, ELECTRICAL SWITCHES AND OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ON MACHINES.

  • ORDER NECESSARY REPLACEMENT PARTS AS REQUIRED.

  • PAINT CONTROL BOXES AND RELATED PIECES AS REQUIRED.

  • FABRICATE SOME BRACKETS AND OTHER PARTS AND WELD TO MACHINE.

  • LAY OUT WIRING PATTERN, FIT AND PACK GLANDS AND CONNECT TO COMPONENTS.

  • TEST WIRING SYSTEMS AND CONTROL UNITS OF THE MACHINE, ISOLATE AND CORRECT MALFUNCTIONS WHILE MACHINE HAS OPERATING VOLTAGE.

  • LOAD MACHINES ON AND OFF TRUCKS.

  • ADHERE TO U.S. BUREAU OF MINES, M.S.H.A. AND APPLICABLE STATE STANDARDS FOR FINISHED COMPONENTS.

  • ENSURE THAT WRITTEN QUALITY CONTROL STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES ARE STRICTLY ADHERED TO.

  • FOLLOW ESTABLISHED SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROCEDURES. ENSURE ALL WORK AREAS ARE CLEAN AND ORDERLY.

Qualifications/Requirements

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • MINE ELECTRICIAN CERTIFICATION OR EQUIVALENTJOURNEYMAN STATUS EXPERIENCE.

  • 3 OR MORE YEARS EXPERIENCE IN ELECTRICAL REPAIR OF MINING EQUIPMENT AND/OR HEAVY INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT OR EQUIVALENT RELATIVE EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION.

  • EXPERIENCE ON JOY EQUIPMENT PREFERRED

  • WILLING TO WORK WEEKENDS AS NECESSARY
