2 Press Operator - 3rd shift (This position will work Monday - Thursday, 7:30 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.) Summary: Shared responsibility for the set-up and operation of mechanical power presses in the production of quality stampings. Monitors stamping process and maintains accurate charts to ensure product conforms to customer requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Ensures and applies proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Promotes a safe work environment. Monitors press operation, visually inspects parts, reads and adheres to quality sections and maintains charts to ensure conformance to customer requirements. Complete the required production and quality documentation. Including proper tagging, daily reports, set up sheets and time reports. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work area. Use gages to ensure parts meet quality requirements. Use micrometers, calipers and other basic measuring equipment Assists in die set ups. Loads the coil into the feed line. Properly adjusts lubrication to the die and / or strip as well as troubleshoots production problems and works with other team members to correct and improve the process. Makes proper settings for die, press, straightener, feeder and makes adjustments as necessary to include determining optimal location for conveyors and method of part / scrap removal. Coordinates container flow, scrap segregation and removal. Coordinates activities of personnel at the press. Use micrometers, calipers and other basic measuring equipment. Education and/or Experience - High School Diploma or Equivalency Skills and Abilities - Operate all presses with the transfer systems and / or progressive dies, able to set up a job in the press, including setting the die and necessary equipment, and first piece approvals, and must have good oral and written communication skills Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
