The Residential Fire business is a part of the Fire and Security Products group at Carrier. As a large manufacturer of fire safety products, Kidde meet the safety needs of homes and businesses by providing fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, strobes, and other products.

The Planning / Operations Manager will be responsible for (Planning) managing the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP), forecasting, supply planning, purchasing, vendor management, and customer service. (Operations) Managing the 3PL warehouse, responsible the P&L within the current contact, driving efficiency and quality of service, to provide analytical data analysis to the SLT combined with responsibility on E&O management. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, adept in Excel and ERP systems, specifically JDE. The ideal candidate will have a college degree or a minimum of 8 years of experience in supply planning, along with prior team management experience. The role also requires a level of flexibility to take responsibility of operational needs that are business critical that are within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Planning:

  • Actively work with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams in the regions to accurately forecast sales revenue and units by product family, item, and market. This will be used to drive supply planning, production, and financial planning.

  • Analyze growth trends, risks and opportunities, and weekly pacing of sales to forecasts, to be used in driving the SIOP process and financial forecasts

  • Responsible for compiling statistical forecasts and analyzing data on sales vs. forecasts to identify opportunities for improving forecast accuracy

  • Achieve target fill rates to customers while adhering to business inventory targets.

  • Drive continuous improvement of planning systems, business tools and processes to perform necessary analytics to ensure proper demand planning and inventory control

  • Lead inventory projects to improve the inventory turns and logistics costs

  • Work closely with Supply Planners and factories to drive down cost and lead times

  • Maintain SIOP metrics to drive insights on opportunities and risks (forecast accuracy/bias, fill rates, inventory coverage, logistics costs)

  • Support reporting and presentations to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Develop strategies for SIOP maturity and Logistics productivity

  • Works with Sales to set objectives and guides team on sales operations goals. Responsible for ensuring sales operations goals are met, and supporting various sales teams

  • Manage KPI’s for SIOP, including forecast accuracy, Customer Service Levels, and Inventory turns

  • Be responsible the Excess and Obsolescence management of stock control

Purchasing and Coordination:

  • Manage the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders (POs) to suppliers and coordinating delivery schedules.

  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.

  • Track and report on purchase order status and resolve any issues related to supplier performance.

  • Monitor supply chain performance and adjust plans as necessary to ensure service levels and cost targets are met.

  • Support the Sales function on stock availability.

  • Work closely with the 3PL to drive efficiency and first class service. Which include weekly / Monthly meetings

  • Be responsible the operational P&L within the BU

  • Organise and facilitate annual stock take within the NDC

  • Attend Weekly sales forecast meetings with the leadership team

Sourcing Finished Goods and Components:

  • Manage procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials and services.

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for finished goods and components to support current and future product portfolios.

  • Conduct cost analysis and supplier assessments to ensure quality and reliability.

  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure favorable terms and ensure continuous supply.

  • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors.

  • Evaluate vendor performance and implement improvement plans as needed.

Order Processing and Distribution:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective order management and communication.

  • Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner.

  • Receive and process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordinate with the distribution center to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

  • Monitor order status and provide updates to stakeholders as needed.

  • Resolve any order-related issues, including discrepancies and delays, to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Educational Requirements:

  • BA/BS, preferably in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or a minimum of 8 years of experience in a related supply chain planning field

  • APICS certification preferred

  • Minimum Requirements

  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one work area.

  • Has broad knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience

  • OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years experience
