Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin's design, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of software specialists and engineers, you will ensure the Software Quality for various spaceflight systems. You will report to the Senior Manager of Program Quality, and assure the successful execution of software development plans that support compliance with internal processes and customer requirements; approve software configurations for safety critical functions; and collaborate on process improvement initiatives for various spaceflight systems. You must have a passion for solving complex problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and on your own initiative; and be adaptable as you will work on a variety of applications and systems. Responsibilities: Collaboration and Prioritization: Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to understand and prioritize their software tool development needs, aligning software solutions with the specific requirements of manufacturing operations and quality management systems. User Story Development: Craft user stories tailored to the workflow and requirements of various roles within the manufacturing environment, ensuring that software solutions address their specific needs and contribute to operational efficiency and quality improvements. Compliance and Documentation: Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements by ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation of software development processes, quality control measures, and validation activities. Stakeholder Engagement: Secure buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders, including manufacturing, quality assurance, information technology, and management teams, by effectively communicating the value of software solutions, gaining consensus on requirements, and incorporating feedback into development processes. Software Solution Design: Design and develop software solutions that leverage existing ERP systems, generative AI, and advanced analytics to reduce nonconformities, optimize quality operations, and expedite resolution when non-conformances arise in manufacturing processes. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within manufacturing operations and quality management by leveraging software solutions to streamline workflows, automate routine tasks, and enhance data-driven decision-making. Testing and Validation: Lead testing and validation efforts to ensure that software solutions meet functional and performance requirements and align with the specific needs of manufacturing environments. Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to optimize software solutions, assess the effectiveness of implemented tools, and continuously improve their impact on quality operations within manufacturing environments. Qualifications: 5+ years industry experience. Familiarity with ERP systems and owning requirements. Familiarity with, AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs.
