This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable space flight. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. We are actively looking for a skilled Design Engineer. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will collaborate with the Crew Systems and Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Lunar Transportation teams. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, technicians, and specialists, you will report to the EVA and Crew Systems IPT Lead and provide technical design, CAD, and drawing support for EVA and Crew Systems hardware. Yourskillin thedesign, modelling, and drawingofsafe, reliable, ready to install hardware will be crucial to providing safe and reliable crewed transportation to the Moon the entire product life cycle from research, design development, final flight hardware design, manufacturing, and production. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. We are looking for someone to apply their design engineering expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight and returning to the Moon to stay. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Create and modify CAD models of lunar vehicle components in Creo Parametric Create Interface Control Models and Interface Control Drawings Deliver geometry to analysis teams in support of structural and thermal analyses Release engineering drawings in Windchill Incorporate drafting standards and standard drawing notes based on company, program, and industry standards. Perform model and drawing check activities during release reviews. Qualifications Minimum BS Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field Entry Level, 1 year of relevant engineer experience Experience with automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle modeling and drawings Experience withtop-downdesign methods. Strong mechanical design and integration skills using Creo Parametric /ProEsoftware and Windchill. Proficient in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5). Experience in drawing generation, checking, and release processes. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
