Axiom Space Non- Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician in Webster, Texas

Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Professional who is preoccupied with big questions: Where do we go from here? What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?

SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic NDE Technician with broad experience base in NDE. You will be responsible for the development of innovative test processes and implementation of advanced inspection or test techniques. You will advise on advanced technology in non-destructive instrumentation and inspection principles, processes, and techniques. You will plan and schedule NDE activities of the QC team and resources across programs. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You will consult suppliers and internal customers to resolve technical issues involving tests, processes, and equipment. You will consult on corrective action to resolve process or product anomalies. You will ensure the timeliness of testing and the release of product to stakeholders. You may operate company vehicles to store and transport materials and products.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting NDT on company and procured products

  • Performing product inspections including in-process, final, and AS9102 first article inspection to quality and safety standards across all stages of production.

  • Collating data and generate company inspection reports

  • Ensuring company tools and equipment are calibrated on time

  • Managing specialized inspection equipment, including maintenance, calibration, and readiness of equipment.

  • Ensuring company tools and equipment are calibrated and working correctly

  • Reporting quality anomalies to the supervisor

  • Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes

  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 4+ years of inspection experience

  • Certified Level II (2), to multiple methods (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET, and/or VT)

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform NDE tasks and interpret results of inspections.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret technical information

  • Technical Background in NDE methods and procedures

  • Working knowledge of NDE equipment.

  • Experience in report writing.

  • High-level of visual awareness include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Preferred Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate NDE activities of a team

  • NAS 410 Certification

  • Certification to NASA Workmanship standards (NASA-STD-8739.1 thru 6, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-620)

  • Certified Weld Inspector

  • COPV inspection experience

  • GD&T experience

  • AS9100 experience

  • Mechanical inspection experience

Essential Functions

  • Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
