Who we are looking for: Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work certification and a Top Workplaces USA award, is searching for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer, to be based out of Wayne, MI. Reporting to the Regional Lean Manager, this person will be responsible for deploying Lean methodology and driving Continuous Improvement within manufacturing facilities assigned.  Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is preferred. ABS comprises three fundamental pillars: Strategy, People, & Process. Those business system pillars are supported by Lean Daily Management (LDM), how we manage and sustain the business that we have today, and Strategy Deployment Process (SDP), how we build the business that we aspire to become. The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for assisting and occasionally leading the deployment of Lean methodology including strategy design and deployment, training, coaching of subject matter expertise, and working closely cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Warehousing, Production, Maintenance, Procurement, Environmental Health & Safety, Finance, Human Resources, and Quality. What you'll do: Support the manufacturing facility's ABS Control Room process to sustain the connection between Strategy Deployment, Lean Excellence, and Facility Transformation initiatives Support and create elements of the lean daily management system Engage with ABS and facility leadership to assist with achieving specific targets to achieve improvements functionally and strategically in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation metrics Develop, facilitate, and lead Value Stream Mapping (VSM) activities to identify & prioritize improvement opportunities What you'll bring:

Bachelor's Degree, or equivalency, in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related field 2-4 years' relevant working experience, in a manufacturing environment preferred Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Capacity to perform at a high level in a fast-paced working environment Ability to work under minimal supervision, plan workload, and establish priorities Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal Demonstrate Atkore Core Values - Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, Excellence Must possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and have a strong work ethic Within 3 months, you'll: Complete your Atkore Immersion program Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy Visit the locations you support and begin building relationships with site contacts Within 6 months, you'll: Support productivity improvement projects in the plant and other transactional waste reduction initiatives Provide input and feedback to key leadership positions about process improvement opportunities specific to all parts of the organization Support process and transactional improvement Kaizens Identify, create, and sustain standard processes throughout the organization Analyze and monetize improvements and opportunities within the company Within 12 months, you'll: Partner with all functions to assist with defining process capabilities, assessing business performance gaps, and developing gap closure plans Support a robust Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) funnel.
