Semi-Trailer Big Box (http://www.stsbbx.com) , a Big Truck & Semi-Trailer dealership in Waxahachie Texas is seeking a motivated and skilled Truck & Trailer Shop Managers.  We are seeking individuals who know what they want and possess very clear goals.  We Buy-Sell Class 8 Trucks - Yard Mules - Semi-Trailers - Shipping Containers nationally.  We are in the fast-paced transportation industry.

Position Summary: 

  • Position is based in Waxahachie, Texas

  • Shop Hours are 7am - 8pm M - F

  • 2 Tech Shifts - 7-2 and 1-8 - Techs work a 7-hour shift - 8 techs per shift. 

  • 2 - Shop Managers 

  • Morning - 7-3 

  • Afternoon - 12-8

Major Aras of Responsibility

  • Yard Trucks & Dry Vans are the focus.

  • Planning & organizing the work of our Techs. Daily-Weekly-Monthly.

  • Parts ordering & Management. 

  • Processes and approves all invoices and work orders related to shop operations.

  • Reviews work orders for proper time allocation of jobs.  

  • Provides on-the-job assistance to Technicians having trouble diagnosing or repairing vehicles.

  • Reviews diagnostic results by any Technician performing new or unfamiliar diagnostic procedures.

  • Quality checks the work performed on every vehicle.

  • Hiring and administrative responsibility for all techs.

  • Keeps shop equipment in safe operating condition - Manages new equipment purchases.

  • Keeps a clean and safe shop in accordance with company standards.

  • Manages items that violate safety, welfare or integrity of the Company its Staff or Customers.

  • Manages and complies with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Manages and conducts training on proper techniques and best practices.

  • Recommends Techs for appropriate training as needed.

  • Performs various administrative tasks as directed by management.

  • Follows all attendance policy including clock in and out, breaks and PTO.

  • Builds a positive operational atmosphere and culture consistent with company goals.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Passion for Maintenance - Operational Management - Leadership.

  • Career Focused - With Management & Leadership experience.

  • Must be able to Engage and Motivate Others. 

  • Truck Equipment - Diagnostic ability  

  • Truck Equipment - Direct Maintenance experience 

  • Parts Inventory Management experience

  • Critical Thinking - Common Sense approach

  • Strong Attention to Detail

  • Organization Skills - Scheduling and Planning

  • Strong Problem-Solving Ability 

  • Excellent verbal & written skills required.

  • Basic computer and administrative skills

  • Dealership or Transportation Industry is a must.

  • Plans, schedules, and reviews workload and resources to maximize effectiveness.

  • Consistent focus on minimizing cost and maximizing profitability.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary - $75k annually
