Job Description Summary
The Lead Systems Engineer has design responsibility to define and develop new product technologies to meet customer needs, product quality, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, regulatory, compliance, and cost. Activities include requirements development, traceability and flow down, architecture / system design and analysis, FMEA, developing/executing System Verification and Validation test procedures, managing standards flow down, risk management and providing support to manufacturing and field issues. The person will be supporting NIBP Cuffs and Maternal Infant Care Clinical Accessories.
Roles and Responsibilities
Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement the next generation of products.
Responsible for defining product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing
Developing methods to quantify/characterize Product Performance & System interactions to drive design/tradeoff decisions in product development.
Responsible for the medical device standards flow down to the design of the product and testing to meet the standard
Work with the Engineering team for any technical design reviews, technical discussions, investigation, and retirement of technical risks as they arise during new product development and installed base programs.
Work with Engineering team on Risk Management of the product- FMEA's, Cause Mitigation Table etc.
Work closely with the customer advocacy teams to coordinate the engineering response to issues raised on released products
Responsible for the identification of improvement areas to drive continuous improvement for efficiency and simplification to enable the engineering team to facilitate the execution of projects more easily, effectively and consistently.
Bachelor's Degree with 6 years relevant work experience in Engineering or Life Sciences: Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field.
Effective communication skills - ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
Demonstrated ability to pursue tasks to completion
Broad exposure to Hardware or Systems design, and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, software etc)
Knowledge of Medical Device Regulations and Quality Management System.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
