Summary

The Production Supervisor will be highly organized and able to ensure that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process, while monitoring employees and organizing workflows. They must be highly skilled in complex operations and able to comprehend the multi-faceted nature of the manufacturing process. The ability to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing costs is also essential to ensure maximum quality and efficiency. This role is essential to our overall corporate objectives and to ensure that the production processes result in products of maximum quality with maximum profits.

Responsible for the operation of an assigned area in terms of safety, production, quality, cost, delivery, technical, and human resources, while respecting the defined goals. Responsible for the day-to-day management of people within production, to ensure company's targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety, and standard operating procedures. Strive to continually improve using Lean tools to reduce costs, improve production and quality. Acts with minimum supervision. Decisions and results have an impact on the function and their success.

  • Supervises staff to produce manufactured products, and organizes and monitors workflow accordance with plant policies and procedures.

  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Train and manage production line workers and review performance to ensure high productivity and quality standards.

  • Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.

  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, and answering questions and responding to requests.

  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, and implementing change.

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.

  • Prepare reports on production performance, workers' performance, and other relevant data for upper management review.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and content, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.

  • Working knowledge of ISO/9001/14000/13485 and AS9100 processes

  • Other duties & functions may be assigned to this position as needed

Other Responsibilities :

  • Analyze production activities, then recommend or implement corrective actions.

  • Coordinate cross-training with the leads on machines and assembly lines, per the business needs

  • Maintain daily metrics of production goals vs. achievements; analyze shortfalls and document causes.

  • Lead 5S in designated department.

  • Schedule work content within the department and identifymanpower needs for production requirements.

Qualifications?

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, including supervisory experience.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-related production software.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Knowledge of quality standards, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Ability to work under pressure and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing schedules and priorities.

  • Read & Understand Engineering drawings and documentation

  • OSHA Safety familiarization

Preferred:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

  • Computer skills including Word and Excel.
