The Arc Oneida-Lewis Chapter Redemption Route Driver in Waterville, New York

The Arc, Business Enterprises Department is looking to hire a Redemption Route Driver! The position is a route based driving position covering multiple counties utilizing a box truck equipped with a ramp and hand truck. Responsible for customer pickups, transport, and delivery of bottles and cans to Redemption Center for processing. The position includes traveling to customer locations, providing exceptional customer service, sort and remove bags or boxes of empty cans and bottles from each location. Secondarily this position will assist in the redemption center as needed when not in the vehicle. Demonstrate professional conduct to include respect, dignity, and compassion when interacting with customers and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive box truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver cargo.

  • Operate equipment to load, sort, stack, and unload during each pickup while maximizing space in truck.

  • Ensure records concerning route, delivery and invoice information is recorded and presented accurately.

  • Understand and complete all necessary documentation to facilitate payment process.

  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and track all maintenance records for truck and equipment to make recommendations for maintenance needs.

  • Maintain truck and ensure it is clean inside and out.

  • This position may be required to fill in at the Redemption Center when necessary.

  • Accurately count and pay deposit amount for corresponding returnable items.

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal and DOT regulatory and company policies and procedures.

  • Comply with all NYS Motor Vehicle Laws.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.

  • 3 years plus of general work experience preferred.

  • Valid NYS Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
