Insight Global Senior PostgreSQL DBA- Remote in Watertown, Massachusetts

Job Description

An employer is looking for a PostgreSQL DBA to join their team remotely. This person will join the database administration group of a large healthcare technology company in the Northeast. The team has a push towards AWS and Postgres on the technical roadmap for 2024 and the current team has less experience. This person will partner with the Architect to implement PostgreSQL on AWS, then partition, vacuum, and maintain it. He/she will look at standards, work thru Jira tickets, meet with R&D teams for requirements, and partner with the current DBA team to put changes in production. Because the team is less experience in PostgreSQL and AWS, this person will act as a mentor for the team of 8 onshore and offshore.

Skills and Requirements

-5+ years of experience in a Database Admin/Engineer role

-5+ years of PostgreSQL experience

-3+ years of supporting PostgreSQL on AWS

-Experience partitioning and Vacuuming

-Strong communication skills -AWS and/or Postgres Certifications

-Experience with Aurora null
