Kelly Services Machine Operator - Assembly OpTech in Watertown, Connecticut

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator - Assembly Op Technicians join our team on the2nd & 3rd shifts. This position is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our assembly processes and maintaining high-quality standards.

Location: Watertown, CT

Position Type: Full-Time- Direct hire

Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Salary: $23.34 - $26.81 per hour plus shift differential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently complete the assembly process while ensuring quality and consistency.

  • Perform complex machine setups, including changing dip tubes and mechanical parts.

  • Conduct quality checks and audits during production runs through visual inspection.

  • Measure, examine, and test assembly units to identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, making necessary adjustments.

  • Carry out preventive maintenance on assembly machines to minimize downtime.

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings, and quality enhancements.

  • Participate in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) reviews and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspection results and production data.

  • Ensure outgoing products meet required specifications and escalate any safety, quality, or performance issues.

  • Perform part changes, including molds and mechanical components.

  • Conduct diagnostics inspections on machines to determine root causes and corrective actions.

  • Support on-time delivery by operating assembly machines as needed.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Basic shop math and computer skills.

  • Basic machine troubleshooting skills and mechanical problem-solving abilities.

  • Willingness to assist cross-functional teams as needed.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively.

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and report data based on machine performance.

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Adaptability to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items as required for the role.
