Job Description

The Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for supporting the functions of Trek Retail Stores with specific focus on Loss Prevention/Asset Protection. Responsibilities include performing and controlling the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over loss prevention strategies, operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.

This person is responsible for developing, supporting, advising, and training all aspects of inventory control and loss prevention to Retail Management (District and Store Managers), Finance, Audit, and Field Operations (Visual, Operations). Responsibilities executing a comprehensive loss prevention strategy, advising on necessary process changes/improvement, and developing soft and hard security controls.

Position Responsibilities

  • Intense focus on loss reduction and awareness – responsible for raising the level of shrink awareness and culture at retail stores and within the retail organization.

  • Lead training with Retail Management, Finance, and Operations raising awareness to all types of shrink.

  • Prepares reports of effectiveness for established prevention measures.

  • Responsible for inventory control process improvement including cycle counts, receiving, transfers, disposition, labeling, and others; identify trends and potential theft issues.

  • Oversees field inquiries and general loss prevention inquiries.

  • Conducts monthly in-store audits for compliance with loss prevention controls and retail process standards while investigating sources of known losses.

  • Document process and prepare audit findings with recommended risk aversion measures and cost savings.

  • Analyzes and reviews store accounting, inventory, and transaction data to detect issues and ensure that policies and programs are in place to reduce losses.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience in multi-unit Loss Prevention/Asset Protection

  • Understanding of retail store and loss prevention systems

  • Excellent analytical, investigative and problem solving skills

  • Ability and willingness to travel with short notice

  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, clearly and concisely in English is required

  • High attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask
