Ford Motor Company Software Developer - Infotainment Security in Waterloo, Ontario

As a member of the Platform Services team, you will work with security on the latest infotainment systems used in Ford vehicles all over the world! You will use your refined skills to design and implement creative software solutions to interesting and challenging problems. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to test your software under real conditions in Ford test vehicles.

  • Work in an agile team of software developers, test engineers, technical product managers and leads.

  • Be an active participant in an agile product development environment, including stand up meetings, regular sprint planning, demos and retrospectives

  • Work on proof of concepts for next generation infotainment systems

  • Own and develop security features end to end

  • Write code across middleware and HMI software layers

  • Discover security vulnerabilities and design solutions to address them

  • Address issues, write unit tests and contribute to code reviews

Qualifications:

  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or related field of study (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)

  • 3+ year’s work experience

  • Extensive experience in Java or C++ and object-oriented concepts

  • Experience working on services and applications

  • Familiarity with QNX, Linux or other UNIX-like / POSIX compliant operating systems

  • Familiar and comfortable with formal software development and testing processes

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with the Android Operating System and Android Open Source Project (AOSP)

  • Experience with signing and signature validation

  • Experience with android secure boot

  • Experience with android AOSP certification - CDD requirements, CTS tests

  • Experience with network security

  • Experience with SE Linux or QNX SecPol

  • Experience with AutoSAR

  • Working knowledge of Git, experience with GitHub

  • Experience with Python scripting

  • An eagerness to learn and solve problems

  • Hard worker who is looking for a challenging and rewarding position
