We are presently seeking a Summer Student for our Operations Department at our Waterloo, Ontario office. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Summer Student will be an integral part of the Operations team. This position will assist with maintaining inventory accuracy and picking kits to achieve output expectations. Your attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment will play a key role in the success of our Operations.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Ensure proper implementation of good warehousing procedures in recording, storage, and inventory control.

  • Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and periodic physical inventory checks.

  • Accurate issuance of parts and materials versus work orders

  • Pick products from shelves or bins based on order requirements.

  • Ensure proper rotation, storage and issuance of materials/components.

  • Perform handling and issuance of chemical products

  • Carefully follow detailed work instructions

  • Restock returned inventory from suppliers

  • Safeguard inventory against breakage or other damage and loss on account of pilferage.

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of warehouses.

  • Organize products on shelves and in designated storage areas.

  • Adheres to and participates in all EHS practices and standards across the site, including but not limited to proactive reporting of observed hazards and recommendations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self and others.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the position and other tasks that may be assigned by the superiors

    Requirements:

  • Enrollment in Post-Secondary Education

  • Solid organizational skills

  • Strong computer skills in the Microsoft suite of programs

  • Must be able to work in a team environment
