Manulife Associate Actuary, US IFRS Valuation Reporting in Waterloo, Ontario
The Associate Actuary role offers an exciting opportunity to drive IFRS valuation earnings reporting and analysis, for US UL, VUL, and IUL products, directly supporting senior management decision-making and contributing to our mission of financial excellence. By enhancing valuation tools and methodologies, and collaborating across functional teams, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial reporting and strategic business insights. Position Responsibilities:
Produce quarterly IFRS reserves and analysis, including Driver of Earnings.
Enhance IFRS17 valuation and reporting tools, methodologies, and processes.
Support valuation projects such as Qlik DOE and LTC Rider modelling.
Conduct valuation reviews and controls of assumptions and methodology.
Collaborate on valuation implications and re-rate activities with various departments.
Guide and lead junior team members on valuation projects
Required Qualifications:
FSA / FCIA (or close to attaining FSA/FCIA).
In-depth knowledge of IFRS17 actuarial principles.
Prior valuation exposure and/or familiarity is an asset.
Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, preferably with exposure to AXIS.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in producing quarterly IFRS reserves and analysis.
Expertise in enhancing valuation tools and methodologies.
Background in supporting valuation projects.
Ability to conduct thorough valuation reviews and controls.
Collaborative mindset with a strong desire to work across functional teams.

Salary range is expected to be between
$84,375.00 CAD - $151,875.00 CAD
