Description:

M-Th 10pm-6am

Position Purpose:

Provides diagnostic radiographs and performs imaging procedures in accordance with established parameters. Provides continuity of patient care. Assists Radiologist with procedures. Adheres to MercyOne’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

What you will Do:

Takes radiographic exposures appropriate to procedure.

Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedure.

Collects history data from patient and provides patient education.

Provides patient cares in accordance with department policy.

Provides radiologist pertinent information for interpretation.

Demonstrates the ability to interact in a positive manner with other departments, physicians and students.

Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.

Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include:

Birth-28 days: Neonate

1-18 Months: Infant

18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler

3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged

6-12 Yrs: School-Aged

12-18 Yrs: Adolescents

18-65 Yrs: Adults

65+ Yrs: Geriatrics

Hours/Schedule:

Monday - Thursday

10pm - 6am

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited program in Radiography. Must have valid Iowa permit to practice. Registered Technologist (Radiography) by ARRT.

Intermediate language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability. Personal computer. Ability to work with a large degree of independence. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Ability to use independent judgment to solve problems. Ability to perform office procedures when needed. Knowledge of imaging techniques for routine diagnostic radiographic examinations. CR, DR, and PACS computer knowledge. Understand and demonstrate a commitment to customer service expectations at all times.
