We are ready to add several quality-minded, compassionate, and knowledgeable Physical Therapists to our experienced and collaborative Therapy team in support of our program expansion.

DEPARTMENT FUNCTION/JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible for planning and administering physical therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Responsible for delivering and/or delegating quality patient care from admission through discharge, including patient and family education/training. Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely documentation. Work will be performed in an ethical and legal manner following organizational policies, processes, protocols, and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition.

  • Establishes, revises, and evaluates a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family.

  • Provides or delegates physical therapy treatment to patients, including but not limited to therapeutic exercise, gait training, functional activities, pain management, physical agents, hydrotherapy, and appropriate utilization of group therapies to facilitate patient recovery.

  • Records pertinent patient information to document changes and comply with legal and ethical standards, including daily charting, team summary, insurance justifications, initial and discharge summaries, plan of care, and patient exercise programs.

  • Records daily treatment charges and equipment billing to insure fair and accurate financial records.

  • Analyzes and revises treatment programs to insure continuing appropriate intervention.

  • Modifies therapeutic interventions to accommodate the age of the patient population.

  • Instructs patients and families/caregivers in functional activities and exercise programs to facilitate follow up on discharge.

  • Follows instruction from lead therapist and/or director to perform other functions as assigned to achieve the goals within the department and the program.

  • Must perceive patient relations as a primary focus, and continually strive to satisfy the needs of every patient in all areas of the work force.

License / Education Requirements:

  • Current State of Wisconsin Physical Therapist license

  • Degree from accredited educational institution

  • Current CPR certification

Preferences

  • Preference will be given to candidates comfortable in evaluating and treating patients within inpatient, inpatient rehab, and outpatient settings.

  • Preference will be given to candidates available to work during the work week and weekends.

  • Previous professional or clinical education experience in a neuro-rehab setting is strongly preferred but not required.
