Sonalysts, Inc. Technical Editor in Waterford, Connecticut

Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking a Junior Technical Editor to assist in the design and development of training products for government and commercial clients.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide technical writing support to the creation and maintenance of product line software development life cycle deliverables, both for customer stakeholders and end user consumption.

  • Developing, disseminating and verifying the application of documentation standards across an extensive collection of training system software product publications.

  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to confirm, clarify, and accurately communicate material within a document or training product.

  • Support project and group managers with preparing presentations, compiling metrics, and producing documentation for internal consumption and customer deliverables.

  • Support organization’s Engineering Process Group (EPG) awareness of group process and procedures, and conduct training on behalf of EPG training plans.

  • Contribute to production and review of proposals to further growth of your employee owned business.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Technical Editor/Writer

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*

    Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience in delivering consistently high quality, comprehensible and readable documentation across the complete software development life cycle.

  • Strong writing skills aligned with exceptional attention to detail

  • Software Development Life Cycle knowledge and experience

  • Familiarity with DoD Military documentation specifications and standards

  • Experience using Atlassian Confluence

  • Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*

    *Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check. Candidates are eligible for a clearance if they have demonstrated sound financial management (including good credit) over time, are free of criminal records, have limited foreign contacts or ties, and other factors indicative of a position of trust to protect information sensitive to the U.S. Government.
