Our drivers play a key role in increasing customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and ensuring the secure delivery of products to all customers. If you have a love of meeting people and providing great customer service this position might be right for you! This role is based out of our Waterbury location. Territories range throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and NY.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items, and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers.

  • Drive company truck (sometimes pick up truck) to deliver orders to our branches and/or our customers' sites, which includes unloading products.

  • Document delivery, accuracy, and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives; report any discrepancies to company.

  • Follow route manifest set by delivery manager.

  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor.

  • Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and regulations.

  • May assist warehouse personnel with preparing orders for shipment as needed, as well as receiving, and verifying incoming material.

  • Properly track and document activity log; keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and build professional relationships by treating customers and colleagues in a friendly and respectful manner.

  • Maintain a safe driving record free of violations.

    Qualifications :

  • Must be at least 21 years old.

  • At least 2 years of related work experience.

  • Have a valid CDL Class B Driver’s License.

  • Have a valid DOT medical card or qualify to obtain one if hired.

  • Clean driving record free of accidents and moving violations.

  • Background in warehouse operations and logistics a plus.

  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Have a positive attitude, be a good team player and maintain good attendance.

    Physical Demands

  • Requires long periods of sitting.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

  • Frequently ascends/descends from truck during deliveries.

  • Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperature.
