VetsEZ AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer (Remote Opportunity) in Washington, United States

VetsEZ is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to support our customer, the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS GovCloud to support infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environment management. The Cloud DevOps Engineer will work as part of the DevOps team, supporting development, operations, and security teams to ensure scalable and secure deployments.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform to streamline cloud deployment processes.

  • Manage and configure cloud environments with Ansible to ensure consistent and secure operations.

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless code integration and deployment.

  • Oversee and monitor AWS GovCloud environments to ensure optimal performance and security.

  • Collaborate with teams to ensure security compliance and auditing standards are met.

  • Manage identity and access controls within AWS GovCloud, maintaining strict security protocols.

  • Develop automation scripts using Python to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual tasks.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues to optimize system operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

  • AWS Solution Architect or Developer Associate Certification.

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, particularly AWS GovCloud.

  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools, with strong preference for Terraform.

  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

  • Understanding of networking, including VPCs in AWS.

  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a VA Public Trust clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Bash scripting for automating tasks.

  • Experience with Python scripting for automation and integration.

  • Advanced knowledge of Python for developing automation solutions.
