Responsibilities:

  • The main contact for all technical matters to the customer, as well as for the Product Design; Identify and ensure all program specific customer and legal requirements are achieved

  • Handles all development activities in terms of specifications, DVP & R, FMEA, Product approvals, etc.

  • Coordination of all technical requirements, problems, change requests from the customer and system environment coming towards the product development team.

  • Create all required prototype and production component and module drawings

  • Lead the development of program specific module 3D Cad and study files

  • Obtain final DVP&R/PVP&R customer approval

  • Lead DFMEA/LOIC development and customer reviews

  • Identify necessary test and assembly fixtures and work with design team to complete designs/drawings

  • Support Program Management in developing program timing and ensure program stays on track

  • Ensure BOM cost targets are met or exceeded

  • Lead engineering support for all ZF manufacturing facilities ( support LLR, PV builds, and run at rates)

Required Experience:

  • 5 years - 8 years direct engineering experience with application engineering or product design experience that may include automotive safety systems

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. MBA a plus.

  • Strong analytical capabilities including applicable experience in root cause problem solving), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design of Experiments (DOE).

  • Strong product development knowledge including experience with technical drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) and design stack up analysis.

  • Excellent oral and technical writing communications skills. Excellent customer relation skills.

Ability to interface well with technical staff and functional department personnel in a team environment.
