The main contact for all technical matters to the customer, as well as for the Product Design; Identify and ensure all program specific customer and legal requirements are achieved
Handles all development activities in terms of specifications, DVP & R, FMEA, Product approvals, etc.
Coordination of all technical requirements, problems, change requests from the customer and system environment coming towards the product development team.
Create all required prototype and production component and module drawings
Lead the development of program specific module 3D Cad and study files
Obtain final DVP&R/PVP&R customer approval
Lead DFMEA/LOIC development and customer reviews
Identify necessary test and assembly fixtures and work with design team to complete designs/drawings
Support Program Management in developing program timing and ensure program stays on track
Ensure BOM cost targets are met or exceeded
Lead engineering support for all ZF manufacturing facilities ( support LLR, PV builds, and run at rates)
5 years - 8 years direct engineering experience with application engineering or product design experience that may include automotive safety systems
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. MBA a plus.
Strong analytical capabilities including applicable experience in root cause problem solving), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
Strong product development knowledge including experience with technical drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) and design stack up analysis.
Excellent oral and technical writing communications skills. Excellent customer relation skills.
Ability to interface well with technical staff and functional department personnel in a team environment.
