SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing clerical support to the patient care area ensuring effective and efficient services are delivered.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)

  • Manage the units communication systems (telephone, pagers, patient call system, nurse spectra phone, computers, etc.) to facilitate communication between members of the health care team and their clients.

  • Interact with all visitors, physicians, coworkers and other departments in a customer friendly manner.

  • Establish and maintain floor inventory of identified forms and supplies.

  • Maintain identified patient record while the patient is admitted to the unit.

  • Assist charge nurse with completing computerized orders and telemetry monitoring.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Obtain and maintain CPR Certification required

  • Ability to successfully complete telemetry class to obtain basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms to be completed by the end of orientation

  • Current CNA certification

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
