i3 has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Writer to support the Naval Research Laboratory, Tactical Electronic Warfare Division. The TEWD's mission is to protect the warfighter from emerging threats by advancing electronic warfare (EW) through RDT&E of current and future technologies. The Technical Writer will aid in these efforts by generating and managing technical documents for DoD systems. Responsibilities Review and interpret technical document requirements to develop comprehensive, compliant writing templates. Lead development of assigned documentation in coordination with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Write and edit original text, tailoring of boilerplate, and rewriting third-party contributions to fulfill documentation requirements. Provide recommendations on the use of standardized text and graphics. Assess existing boilerplate against document requirements to determine what additional resources are necessary to complete sections, including specific subject matter expert needs. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or English. Minimum five (5) years of experience. Experience in generating technical documents such as test reports, verification and validation (V&V) reports, and user manuals. Experience in marking of classified documents according to current DoD practice. Experience in marking controlled unclassified information (CUI), including reports and e-mail, according to current DoD practice. Experience using Microsoft Office applications. Excellent oral communications skills. Preferred Qualifications: Background in radar or missile systems. Ten (10) years of experience. Experience in system engineering or test planning.
