Position Summary:

The System Administrator will assist with maintenance activities related to the customer’s on-site Intrusion Detection (IDS) system. The System Administrator will assist the maintenance team on site daily by performing daily checks of the and IDS system, troubleshooting equipment, installing devices, cabling, and other hardware as required.

The System Administrator will be responsible for reporting the system status to the Project Leader and key on-site stakeholders through daily reports. The System Administrator will be responsible for assisting with corrective, preventative, and emergency maintenance tasking.

Responsibilities:

· Technical Tasks

o Experience with IDS systems including DMP, Vindicator, FFT and others

o Perform preventative maintenance tasking on IDS equipment including visual checks, testing, and cleaning as required

o Perform corrective maintenance on IDS equipment and customer systems

o Perform emergency maintenance on IDS equipment and customer systems as required

o Ability to manage devices (add, rename, remove)

o Ability to perform patches and updates to systems

o Understanding of network connectivity, load testing, and data retention

o Understanding of IP configuration and ports

o Communicate system status updates on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis

o Identifying, troubleshooting and reporting issues to Project Leader and Superintendent

o Creating, editing, and closing work tickets in the customer’s inventory management system

o Lead the on-site software commissioning and testing

o Lead inspections, evaluations, and inventory projects

o Assist with feedback on configuration control requests

o Documenting daily reports and project progress

o Communicating project and team member issues/concerns to management

· Administrative Tasks

o Ability to complete daily timesheet

o Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision

o Organize and prepare detailed documentation on the inventory management system including reports, analysis reports, and performance reports.

o Maintain large amounts of data with precision

o Communicate with customers on site and maintenance team

o Train system users and other system support personnel as needed

o Excellent problem-solving skills

o Good analytical and communication skills

o Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency

Requirements:

  • An activeTop Secret (TS) Security Clearancewith the US Federal Government.

  • Requires minimum 3-5 years of experience in system administration and experience with network administration and IDS systems.

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree

  • Work on site daily in the customer’s environment

  • Ability to maintain consistent core working hours

Abilities :

  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.

  • Standing for extended periods of time.

  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.

  • Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.

  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

  • Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

  • Identify and understand the speech of another person.

  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.

  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.

  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
