Meta Security Engineer - Infrastructure (University Grad) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary:

Meta Security is seeking a passionate hacker to help harden the software and services underpinning everything Meta makes today and in the future. We want you to help identify potential weaknesses and craft clever solutions to them, eventually shifting left into preventing those weaknesses from ever occurring in the first place.Does the idea of having a meaningful and measurable impact on the security of one of the world’s largest infrastructures, which serves billions of people, sound both scary and exciting to you? Well, good news, we need your help!

Required Skills:

Security Engineer - Infrastructure (University Grad) Responsibilities:

  1. Threat model and find vulnerabilities in infrastructure services

  2. Provide design and threat-based guidance to software development teams to improve security maturity before code is written

  3. Help eliminate classes of infrastructure security problems by shifting the preventions and detections left into the development workflow

  4. Improve infrastructure security maturity at scale by directly helping to design, implement, and build solutions

  5. A profound curiosity about how things work and willingness to challenge assumptions

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

  2. Experience in securing enterprise-scale infrastructure software and services

  3. Knowledge of distributed systems design and how to conduct threat model assessments of infrastructure

  4. Experience writing code in Python, PHP, Java, Ruby, Go, Rust, C/C++ (or similar language)

  5. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

  1. Contributions to the broader security community (public research, blogging, presentations, bug bounty, etc.)

  2. Track record of participation in capture the flag (CTF) competitions

$105,000/year to $137,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
