We are currently seeking a talented and motivated PC Deployment Technician for a Full-Time position.

Job Summary:

The PC Deployment Technician must perform all duties for the WMATA PC Deployment Team: Imaging, installations, problem resolution, configuration (hardware/software), and Desk Side Support. The Technician will perform diagnostics and repairs and inventory tracking/asset management.

Essential Functions:

  • Responds to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users and hands-on assistance.

  • Provides on-site support to end-users on a variety of issues.

  • Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.

  • Responds to and closes tickets assigned to PC Deployment/Lifecycle Refresh.

  • Ensures all assigned tickets are updated and moving towards a successful resolution in a manner that meets or exceeds contractual SLA’s.

  • Documents, tracks, and monitors all assigned work through tracking systems to ensure a timely resolution. (i.e.: ITSM tool- CA Service Desk, SharePoint, etc.)

  • Provides targeted TIER 2 Support for applications and/or hardware issues that arise during an active WMATA PC Deployment Project

  • Partner with Service Desk), Network Services Team, and the Desktop Engineering Team to resolve issues that may arise during a Lifecycle Refresh Project

  • Provides 1 on 1 Customer Support to users that experience difficulties during a Lifecycle Refresh Project

  • Makes recommendations to the Agency Customer to increase efficiency and productivity.

  • Performs Moves, Adds, and Changes

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to pass a National Agency Background Investigation to receive a Public Trust Security Clearance.

  • Must possess or obtain within 60 days of employment a Microsoft Office Specialist certification. (i.e.: Microsoft Office Specialist Outlook 2010)

  • Must possess 1-3 years’ experience with Deployment Projects requiring base image installation plus individual user-specific software loading.

  • Must possess functional hardware troubleshooting skills and at least mid-level Windows 7/Windows 10 experience.

  • Experience in configuring and deploying Windows 7 and Win 10 using an enterprise-class automated image-based method is preferred. (i.e.: SCCM/PXE, MDT, Ghost, etc.)

  • Experience with Active Directory and SCCM preferred.

  • Must be able to obtain an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Warranty Repair Certification.

  • Must possess a strong understanding of written technical documentation.

  • Must have excellent attention to detail, organizational and teamwork skills.

  • Must possess excellent time management skills and be able to work effectively alone or as part of a team.

  • Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
