Dog Tag Bakery Part-Time Baker in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary Description Dog Tag bakery is seeking a team member with competencies in bread baking, rustic pastries and desserts. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated professional capable of working alone or as part of a team. Successful candidate will ensure all product is kept to Dog Tag Bakery standards, will help train new employees and communicate staffing, equipment and ingredient needs to Head Chef. This person also researches and tests recipes for new menu and seasonal items. Must be available Weekends Must be available 5:30am-12:30pm and must work weekends Key Responsibilities & Duties • Maintain a positive, respectful, and clean work environment. • Follow direction and recipes correctly. • Abide by all Health and Safety standards, including CDC COVID-19 guidelines. • Ensure all product is kept to Dog Tag Bakery standards. • Help with the training of new employees. • Maintain production and stock levels for stations. • Assist, as needed, with Fellows and Fellowship Program. • Attend and contribute to back of house meetings. • Communicate staffing, equipment and ingredient needs to Head Chef. • Research and test recipes for new menu and seasonal items. Qualifications • 1+ years of industry baking experience of culinary school equivalent. • ServSafe Food Handler Certificate. • Must take initiative and work well both independently and also as part of a team. • Good attention to detail. • Works well under pressure. • Quickly recognize and resolve problems. • Must operate machinery in a clean and safe manner and report unsafe conditions. • Must be able to multitask effectively. • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs. • Must have flexibility in schedule. • Highly responsible, punctual and reliable.
