Howard University Hospital seeks to hire an Mammography Technologist who will embrace our rich and historic tradition of excellence. The Mammography Technologist: Monday - Friday 8am- 430pm ( and 1 weekend every other month) Performs ordered examinations in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site reading physicians. Works with the radiologist as a team in considering many factors important to breast imaging. Provides assistance with other breast procedures. Reports, records, and files patient and procedural data in order to accurately document department operations and facilitate timely, accurate billing for services Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure their continued availability and non-interruption of services Responds to emergent and urgent patient and operational issues. Participates in breast cancer education and screening activities for the community. Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms. Qualified candidates will possess: Associate’s degree in Radiologic Science or related field. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mammography. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (R) (M) Bone Densitometry and/or Stereotactic Breast Biopsy experience preferred.
