The IT team partners with DLA Piper management, lawyers and internal business units to devise and deploy solutions that improve the quality of the legal services we deliver to our clients as well as the efficiency of our firm’s business operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2 years’ experience providing support to end users, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and installing PC and peripheral equipment

  • Experience and/or knowledge of MS Windows, Office, device configuration, troubleshooting, OS configuration, network printing, and the installation of hardware and software

  • Working knowledge of MS Windows and network communication concepts

  • Strong verbal and written skills required to communicate technical information to staff of all levels

  • Good organizational skills required to track and resolve a variety of issues in a timely manner

  • Detail-oriented and able to work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines

Preferred Requirements:

  • ComptTIA A or equivalent certificate

  • Flexibility to work overtime or irregular hours as needed

  • Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment

  • Experience providing technical support to C-Suite/executive-level professionals

What will your day look like?

In this exciting opportunity, you will provide hardware and software assistance to employees and clients by answering questions or resolving computer issues in person, via telephone, and/or electronically. This includes installation, configuration, and support of hardware and software setups—such as desktops, laptops, printers & printing, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

Your troubleshooting will include repairing network connectivity issues, restoring data, hard drive and display failures, printer difficulties, etc. You will provide loaner equipment to ensure minimum disruption of work time. You will also setup, support, and maintain the inventory of laptops, desktops, monitors, and firm & personally owned mobile devices. All troubleshooting will require the creation and monitoring of trouble tickets in the queue to document work activity.

You will additionally assist in training employees on the appropriate use of hardware and software to include the use of video conference, telephony, and AV systems, including Crestron, Teams, and Zoom Rooms, VPN, remote access, and smartphones. You will regularly set up meetings in accordance with firm standards, which entails the setup of video conferences, projectors, loaner equipment, and network connections for usage and presentations.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The expected pay range for this position, if hired to work in New York City is $35.00 - $50.00 per hour. Non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
