Job Title: Technical Writer II

Job Summary:

Are you a skilled wordsmith with a passion for precision and clarity? Join our team as a Technical Writer and play a crucial role in supporting the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). As a key member of our collaborative team, you'll leverage your expertise to collect and organize information for user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports. Your keen eye for detail will shine as you edit functional descriptions related to construction and architecture, working alongside architects and engineers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports
  • Editing functional descriptions in documentation related to construction and architecture (physical buildings) and other documentation, such as user manuals or system specifications
  • Collaborating with a team of contractors and government employees
  • Supporting development specifications and plans for the construction and renovation of buildings
  • Collaborating with architects and engineers

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Journalism or English
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • 1+ years of specialized experience, such as editing technical documents
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

Work Setting and Environment:

  • Monday - Friday, normal working hours
  • Work is to be performed onsite in Arlington, VA
